sorry for being such a poop head this morning. it’s hard saying goodbye, even for a short amount of time. nevermind this grumpy, hungry girl who is stressed out by people working in her house. i’ll see ya sooner than you think and we’ll try not to miss each other too much. So general update on life. Things between Radical boy and I are super g(ood) in the h(ood). I am head over heels for this boy.  We have a really solid, healthy communicative relationship and he’s pretty much what i’ve been looking for (knowingly and unknowingly) for some time. But I am not going to turn this post into a written embodiment of the gross cutest that we are. Like aka me feeding him out at breakfast this morning (tofu scramble and banana walnut french toast…mmmmm).So ya I am not going to see him for like 6 days and that’s the longest that we havent seen each other since we met. Gonna be hard but I am gonna distract myself with books and the occasional dvd. I am heading back out to Minaki tomorrow afternoon until Sunday, because a) I am finally on a brief vacation before school starts b) last tuesday our bathroom began a major reno, our old bathroom was on the front lawn for a few days last week and it’s being completely redone so we have no shower and then bathroom is above the kitchen so not only is the bathroom out of commission, so is the kitchen! It’s covered in dust and  dirt as there is holes in the ceiling! I came home to find the fridge in the middle of the kitchen last week! So ya i need to get out of this house! I really hope that it doesnt take forever! I dont want to be starting school with no shower but that’s probably to be expected since the bathroom is in shambles and still completely ripped apart!

Oh man I am watching the season finale of 16 and preggo and its very very intense! these kids are super mature and are giving their kid up for adoption. She is going into labour right now. yikes.

Friday was my last day of work. No need to dwell on that! Rad and Charlie picked me up from work at 1 p.m. and we were outa the city! We were so exhausted Friday but managed to relax a bit and then made (an almost disastrous) Mexican fiesta! We have perfected our homemade salsa and the most important part is to let it sit for awhile, although it’s hard since it;s so temptingly delicious! But it;s important for the best results. After dinner we were so tired that we went to bed at like 10 p.m. It wasnt the best sleep with Rad and I in a single bed and mouse decided to “dance” on top of us all night long! She was looking for a spot to sleep on the bed and there really wasnt one because the bed was so small! I guess Rad woke up at one point and we were sleeping face to face and mouse was sleeping (briefly) between us. We woke up at 9 a.m. to a bluebird sky! We made a great balanced breakfast and ventured out into the sun and played a horrible game of scrabble, drank a vodka cooler (Palm Bay =pineapple madarin), tried to read, swam out to “party island” our 10 ft raft with 5 seats, cupholders, 2 coolers that we now have anchored out in our bay with a cooler full of beer. We ended up at the beach with more coolers full of beer where we socialized the afternoon away. We were wated by the time we got back and somehow made an amazing lasagna. We unfortunately didnt make it out to the party as our dinner took too long, we got hungover and it got dark out way too quick and i didnt want to drive the boat in the dark. So we ate our lasagna and salad and drank wine and tried to play Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago the boardgame which i had never played because it is way too hard for the 10 and up age range it suggests. We didnt even finish the game before we went to bed at like 11 p.m. like the little old ladies we are (sorry radical). We were also super scared to go outside to the bathroom because my parents kept on talking about a rustling in the woods and that its something bigger than we think. I have def heard that rustling earlier this summer. We got stupid scared lol!

Sunday morning we got up (again) at 9 a.m. to a beautiful bluebird sky. We got up and made another great breakfast and by the time we were done it was cloudy! I got all pouty and we read and then napped with hopes the blue sky would come back. We lay down for five minutes before Rad was like you dont want to look outside right now and I did and it was beautiful again! So we quickly put on our bathingsuits, grabbed beers and swam out to the raft! After a brief sunscreen incident which involved throwing the bottle to the raft and then it not making it and disappearing (it did eventually float up) we lay in the raft drinking and soaking up the rays! After a while we swam back to shore and made an amazingly tasty pizza that involved sundried tomato pesto, kalamata olives, red onion, feta, jalopenas, red peppers, and artichoke hearts. mmmm so good! Then my dad and charlie came back from fishing and told us to come out with them. It was soo hot and beautiful out so what could be better than sitting in a boat in the middle of the lake? So Rad and i shared a fishing rod and after a bit i let him hold it and within five minutes he had caught a 21 inch Walleye. He was like uh what do i do if i think i have something. So i basically ripped the rod away from him and reeled it up for him lol! Not bad for his first fish! It was too big so we had to throw it back but someone did take a picture and i will try to get it one day. Then he gave me back the rod and within 10 mins i had a fish on the line! It was 20 inches and again too big. I dont think I have caught a fish in like 15 years! Then we went back to our island and us and all of me and my parents friends had a big shorelunch dinner which was soooo good! (we ate well this weekend!) So at like 8 p.m. our amazingly perfect Minaki weekend ended and we drove back to the city.

So I have officially, avoidably,  hit my head twice in the past week. like hard. like instant tears hard. i need to start using my eyeballs more. Watching a 16 and pregnant marathon alone right now. First time I have been alone in weeks and weirdest thing of all is that’s it’s Monday and what?! i am not at work?! oh ya! I quit my job! My last day was last friday!

Erin is coming over right now and I havent seen her in months because she has been in yellowknife! gossip time!

I had a really, really great weekend, best in a long time. Classic Minaki weekend. Better go let Erin in. I’ll update again before  head back to Minaki for another week!

4 more days of work, 4 more days, 4 more days i can do this.

that’s what i keep repeating and started last week the countdown until quitting my job!!! Yes! Unemployment here I come! Life of a professional student!!

so funny story. last night I got up to pee in the middle of the night. I turned on the bathroom light because I was scared (my house is freakin scary haunted and my family is out of town, although rad was staying with me) so when I was walking back to my room I couldnt see anything and I was scared so I was trying to run back to bed. I ended up smoking my left leg on my damn vintage blue suitcase really really hard and then i guess i flung myself into bed crying in pain waking up a very confused rad and then once I flung myself in bed I hit my head on the coffee table that’s at the end of my bed! So I was crying in pain and rad was trying to comfort me and I was in shock/half asleep and then i wet back to bed.  So my head still hurts and well I am pretty sure my leg has a nice bump/bruise – I initially thought I had cut it. what a disaster i am.

So I spent this last weekend pretty much soaking wet the entire time. Stupid rain! And yesterday i ended up swimming/sitting on a raft in the rain, in the cold humid air, in my bathingsuit with 3 yr old twins and a 5 yr old. What I do for family!! Then I had to drive back to the city leaving my entire family at the late because i have to go to stupid work. So my dad calls in to work (I work with him) at noon and i like ya we just finished breakfast and I am all like geez! Then I talked to him later and he’s like Milo just caught a 35 inch, 12-14 pound northern! The biggest fish he has ever caught! Then it started to rain so then went inside lit a fire and were about to play Snap Judgment (the most fun you can have legally – its a law game) all the while i am sitting in a cubicle at work sighing. This last week of work is suppose to be really tough, although I guess it’s a compliment that they have me covering a really tough lawyer? Really, I rather have an easy last week.

But the weekend to look forward to! Rad is coming out to Minaki! Yay! Time to catch on some books before I have to stop reading for pleasure and for school again, which really could be the same thing.

oh fuck oh fuck i just noticed that my computer says no battery avail – oh shit did it just die? fuck! no! i gotta figure this shit out….. fuck!

mmm warheads. they don’t last as long as they did when i was younger, but still good! sour power!

date night!

weird day. hurt my foot last night, left work to get it checked out, but left after an hour as it would have taken 1 more hour to just get checked in and then 5 more hours to see a nurse. ya. limped back to work and put my foot up all day. went to the dr. always a good time, but way less judgey that the woman from last year.

so last night i went crazy. started drinking when i got home from work, outdoor dinner with fam, beers with jessie, ben, rad and charlie and then 711 adventure with a ghostbusters backpack full of sour puss. ordered pizza and then biked over to pick it up – me with flat tires and jessie with things falling off of her the whole time. then we watched an episode of Dean Cain aka Lois and Clark. Then i stuffed an entire piece of pizza in my mouth all at once. i am a hero.

walked home from work. it’s finally summer. drinking a beer and watching fresh prince. this is the life. t-minus 9 days of work left. t-minus 1 month until school starts. let’s live large until then. patio and backyard drinks, cocktail hour, happy hour, bike rides bbqs, dean cains. already drunk. i want to love life and everyone in mine.
