I am soo bored!! I wish i had friends…… sitting inside a house on a beautiful day in summer in the city watching mtv is just stupid.

I am kinda stressing about this job. They sent me their 50 page policy handbook yesterday and their anti-opression policy and told me to read it and then if i was still interested to arrange a first interview. So i read it, and it was intense. Basically after the probation period I would have to work there for a minimum of two years and would only make minimum wage (around $8). But it would be an amazing environment to work in (i am tired of jobs where people make you feel like shit and look down on you). there is no hierarchal structure, everyone does everything, and makes the same wage. I would also be a part owner. It would be a great experience that I would grow so much from. I would also make great new friends and finally feel apart of something! So the job would be very positive and i would be part of an organization that is rallying for positive social change.
So basically I tried calling them today to arrange an interview but no one from the hiring committee was there and i was told to just email them back. So i didn’t go back to the lake like i was suppose to. So since i don’t have the internet at the lake I told them to call me and leave a message. So still nothing. So i guess I will go to the lake tomorrow and keep checking my messages all weekend….

So I went for a bike ride on my mum’s old bike. She rides pretty well. Now I am back all sweaty, hungry, and blogging on the front steps. There are bugs everywhere! Canker worms and weird beetles probably crawling all over me!
So I went to McNally Robinson instead of Chapters, because it is closer, and now i have 3 books over there on hold! I found a Jeffery Brown comic that i don’t have and got very excited! I also found a new copy of Portrait of the Artist as a Young man new for $5! I also decided that I want to get Leonard Cohen’s anthology of songs and poems “Stranger Music” with my gift certificate..because it is exactly $25.
I am hungry…gonna go eat some quinoa, kidney bean, and asparagus salad i made on the weekend! Then i think I am gonna go grocery shopping! Gonna make some yummy dips and salads for the long weekend! I hope that Ryan, Kelly, Kayli, Lucko, Derek aka the gang are coming down for the weekend! I need some drinking buddies because ps long weekends rule!!

Also last night was my 2nd cousin Zach’s 12th birthday and we all ended up in the basement playing rockband. Me on drums, Bonni on guitar and Zach on vocals was the ultimate! haha I also finally met my cousin susan’s new boyfriend (much younger). Apparently he has now moved in with her and her kids (Alex 15, Zach 12). There is the family gossip for you Jessaroo!!

OMG: I just heard back from the awesome job i aplyed for yesterday (worker owned and run vegan restaurant) about an interview yikes! gotta figure this out!!!!

So Mouse and I have been traveling back and forth between the cottage and the city. Right now we are in the city, obviously for the cottage has no electricity let alone the internet!!
I have been working about once, maybe twice a week. Pretty slack, cleaning cabins. Having fun and relaxing. Writing and reading A LOT! when i am not working.
Since moving I have read:
Two Tickets to Paradise by Jake MacDonald
Pardon our Monsters by Andrew Hood
The Great Gatsby (both graphic novel and novel forms) by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Marketable Depression by Raymi Lauren White
Various Positions: A Life of Leonard Cohen by Ira Nadel
Wounds of Passion by bell hooks
Dharma Bums by jack Kerouac-which i am reading right now

Tonight my mum, Aunt Charlotte, and I are going to the premiere of Guy Maddin’s film My Winnipeg- which will be narrated by Guy Maddin himself!
Tomorrow Mouse and I are heading back down to the cottage! Finally nice weather and it is so shitty being in the city. Right now I am in my dark bedroom with a fan on while the sun is shinning outside. My dad came home and put air in my bike tires and is trying to get me to do something! blah….. well i need to go to the bank to deposit a check…..i also have a $25 gift certificate to chapters….but that is farther away….
the new issue of Macleans has an interview with the Great Leonard Cohen and i must get it!

I have also been cooking a lot, trying out new recipes….will post pictures later!

Also last week we had a bit of an Irish invasion when my friend Milo and his band The Popular Front arrived at our house from Ireland in preparation for their western Canadian tour…which they are on right now!

Move back home

Jun 24 2008 Published by admin under the warrior and the mouse

Part two
So I moved back home to be closer to my family. Then Mouse and I decided to do some relaxing out in the forest.

We found some deer bones. They must of been eaten by wolves.
Not that long ago…..

Mouse loves the lake.

She is even getting used to the dog!

It has also been really nice to be around my brother again.

We have been playing a lot of scrabble…

The Move

Jun 24 2008 Published by admin under the warrior and the mouse

Part one of a recent past summary:
The Move

So I finished my degree, turned 23, and partied.

I said goodbye to my roommate of the last five years.
That’s our moving out shot of peach schnapps, from the bottle that has been in our fridge since we moved in. Wasn’t bad.
Mouse loved helping me pack.

And finally I was all packed up and ready to move on.

Introduction

Jun 23 2008 Published by admin under the warrior and the mouse

Really there is no good way to start a blog is there. So I will jump right in there, tell you about my life, without too much background knowledge, well basically pretty much like how I start every relationship.

I have spent the last five years in Montreal.
Living in an eleventh floor apartment. Until I moved out at the end of April.

Now I am embarking on new adventures with my cat, Mouse, by my side.

I am in limbo, unsure of where I am headed next, and with this my journey begins.
